Scientific research findings -- patented technology, proprietary technology, new materials -- or engineering results -- design, inspection work, demonstrations

The Chenguang Research Institute has more than 300 scientific research awards, 45 of them provincial and ministry-level awards.

1. Patented technology:

the institution was recognized as one of the first “national intellectual property rights demonstration” units in 2009 and, by Feb 2012, had 60 patents, and more than 100 patent applications.

2. Technology:

Monomer, fluoropolymer, specially modified monomers, and additives.

● Monomers

- Multi-stage heating system perfluorinated propylene: the high-purity perfluorinated propylene won a Key National New Product award in 2005 and a third place award at the 2005 Petrochemical Association of Science and Technology Progress Awards, and has three national invention patents.

- Pioneering tetrafluoroethylene technology: this patented technology won a Chinese Patent Excellence award in 2008.

● Fluoropolymer technology

- Fluororubber: this technology took second place at the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards in 2004, and second place in the Petrochemical Association of Science and Technology Awards, and has four national invention patents, with three more in the application process.

- PTFE resin technology: this technology took third place at the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards in 2006, and second place at the Petrochemical Association of Science and Technology Awards, and has three national invention patents.

● Safety and environmental protection technology

- Plasma processing organic fluorine liquid waste technology

- First national development of tetrafluoroethylene polymerization inhibition technology and tetrafluoroethylene exhaust-gas recycling technology

- Recycling of perfluorooctanoic acid from waste liquid, to realize the clean production of fluoropolymer.

● Specially modified monomers and additive technology

Opening the bottleneck in industrial technology and developing special ether monomer engineering, with 4 patents applied for.

3. Developing new materials

The Chenguang Research Institute has around 400 new products that contribute more than 45 percent of sales revenue; 25 have won national, ministerial, and provincial quality awards, and the “Chenguang” trademark has been recognized as a “Famous Chinese Brand”, while five new products -- perfluorinated propylene, tetrafluoroethylene-propanol, high fluorine-content fluororubber F246-2G, extrusion moderate compression ratio PTFE dispersion resin CGF238, and perfluorooctanoate substitutes – have been recognized as key national new products.
